Dr. Walkington

Dr. Jeffrey Walkington — Director

Dr. Jeff Walkington (jwalking) is the Director of Uni High. Dr. Walkington began his career as a teacher of English in public schools; he later took on teaching and administrative roles in independent schools, such as Webb School in Knoxville, TN (Director of the Writing Center, Public Relations Director), and Cannon School in Charlotte, NC (Upper School Director, Assistant Headmaster). His most recent post was Vice President for Academic Affairs at Latin School of Chicago. Walkington earned his bachelor's degree in English and French at DePauw University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in English at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Jeff and his wife Sarah have a daughter, Ellen, who works at the UI foundation, and a son, John, a Uni grad.

Dr. Nuckolls

Dr. Jeanette Nuckolls — Associate Director

Dr. Jeanette Nuckolls (nuckolij) holds a Doctorate of Education in Education Administration and Foundations and a Master of Science degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities and Social Emotional Disorders, both from Illinois State University, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education from Bradley University. She has been the Principal of Normal Community High School in Normal, Illinois from 2002 to 2012, and has in the past served as Assistant Principal for Normal Community West High School, the Dean of Students at Naperville Community School District 203, and the Chair of Special Education for Joliet Township High Schools. She joined Uni in the summer of 2012.

Dr. Radnitzer

Dr. Karl Radnitzer — Assistant Director of Student Life

Dr. Karl Radnitzer (radnitze) is the Assistant Director of Student Life at Uni. Radnitzer began his time at Uni as a school counselor for three years before earning his new role as Assistant Director. He taught at Oak Park School District 97 and the University of Chicago Lab School. He served as principal at Leal School in Urbana and his most recent position was program coordinator and academic advisor at Millikin University. Karl joined the Uni staff in 2010. He has a B.S. in psychology from North Park College, M.S. at the University of Illinois, C.A.S from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in education from the University of Illinois. He has endorsements in School Counseling and School Administration. His interests are emotional intelligence, leadership development, career assessment and students who are gifted and also have learning disabilities. Karl and his wife Crystal have three children: Isaac (Uni class of 2008), Hannah (Centennial class of 2010) and Abigail (Uni class of 2012). Karl and Crystal serve as foster parents.
