Catherine Chou Senior Photo

After her years at Uni High, Catherine Gruschow attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, obtaining a Bachelors in both Psychology and Bioengineering. Post-graduation she worked as a web developer for several years, during which she familiarized herself with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. She also gained proficiency in working within Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and other database management systems.

After her work in web development, Catherine started (and now solely runs) the Gruschow Foundation which supports various local organizations in the Chicago greater area. Over the last few years, she has also pursued a second career as a yoga teacher. When asked about her thoughts on yoga, she said she found teaching it "very emotionally rewarding which is a reason I’ve supported Uni and especially its teaching staff." Through her dedication, Catherine has also achieved her 500-hour teaching certification.
