A graduate of the Uni High Class of 2001 and the prestigious Eastman School of Music, Christopher Otto is a world-renowned violinist and member of the prestigious JACK Quartet. He has performed with several other ensembles including the Talea Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble, Alarm Will Sound, Cellar and Point, Ensemble Signal, Ne(x)tworks, the Knights, and The Theatre of Eternal Music String Ensemble. His group, the JACK Quartet, focuses on performing contemporary classical music, and has received recognition by publications such as the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Washington Post. His group has composed novel musical pieces, and Otto himself has written works in just intonation as well as a violin duo with Erik Carlson, which is available on SoundCloud.

Otto currently resides in New York City with his wife and children, and is grateful for the opportunities that Uni High gave him to be himself and explore his interests in high school. He was a member of Unique literary magazine and participated in many ensembles and clubs in his time at Uni. He is also interested in the field of mathematics, and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Rochester. He currently serves on the faculty of the Mannes School of Music at The New School in New York, where the JACK Quartet is the Quarter in Residence.
