Clarence Thompson

Clarence A. Thompson, a member of the Class of 1929, was best known during his time at Uni for his prowess in the sports of basketball and track. During his senior year, Thompson was the captain of the boy’s basketball team, which he led with his versatile and aggressive playstyle at the guard position. He also played a key role on the track and field team where he specialized in jumps and weight events. 

After his time at Uni, Thompson went on to give back to the Champaign-Urbana area by founding the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club, as well as donating land for the Champaign Park District mini-parks. Later, he also served on the national board of Boys Club of America.
