In the summer of 2018 five Uni students and three Uni teachers attended a summer Computer Assisted Design (CAD) class, taught by Professor Cliff Shin from the Industrial Design Program at U of I. In this small pilot class, Uni students learned and applied a program called SolidWorks. This is the dominant CAD software used both in Engineering and Industrial Design. All of this was made possible due to the opportunities presented by the Frankel Fund (a generous alumni donation to encourage transformative tech collaborations with the University).
